PRG Acquires More Than $150,000,000 in Property For Kimco Realty Corporation
Kimco Realty Corporation (KRC), a publicly-traded real estate investment trust (REIT), is the nation's largest owner and operator of neighborhood and community shopping centers with interests in more than 1,519 properties comprising 180 million square feet of leasable space across 45 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and Chile. Since incorporation in 1966, the Company has specialized in the acquisition, development and management of well-located shopping centers with superior growth potential.
In 2006, KRC began acquiring urban mixed use projects in New York City, their backyard, with the goal of redeveloping well located, architecturally sound buildings that have under utilized street retail presence and Class C or B office above the retail. As retail based company, Kimco employs a conversion effort to condo off all of the buildings assets while retaining the retail condo as part of their ever growing portfolio. The program has returned yields to their investor’s superior to that of the marketplace and created a demand for KRC to take the strategy to many more markets.
Precision Realty Group (PRG) has been retained by KRC to acquire properties that meet the above criteria throughout the United States. To date, PRG has represented KRC in the acquisition of over $150,000,000 in three states. Most of the completed transactions have been though “off market” knowledge of owners and the marketplace(s).
